The focus of the Member Experience Intern is to learn social media strategy of a multi-club retail fitness chain and see from a customer service side how this strategy transfers over into the member experience. You will begin your journey learning about our company, visiting our clubs, and understanding all product knowledge including our membership, club amenities, and fitness services. Additionally, you will learn and have hands on experience completing tasks managing and responding to member feedback including, but not limited to The Edge’s social media sites, and email marketing. As a voice and representation for The Edge Fitness Clubs, you will act as a culture champion for The Edge and will continually strive to create long-lasting positive member engagement through all member communication channels with laser focus on exceeding member expectations.
INTERN DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Spend the early days getting to know who The Edge is and our core values which we call our DNA!
Meet with our marketing team to discuss our social media strategy and what behaviors we want our members to engage in with us!
Receive hands on training on which channels our members use to give us feedback and how to keep them engaged and happy with an educated and caring response!
Respond to all social media posts and positively and enthusiastically to keep members engaged.
Respond to any comments, questions or concerns from members posted on social media sites (positive or negative).
Report via email any issues deemed urgent to the club GM, AD, and Member Experience Director promptly
Complete and submit club Member Experience audits to monitor basic front desk management key performance indicators for top basic service objectives.
Complete and submit member surveys as needed.
Must have exemplary written and verbal communication skills.
Must be meticulously organized, with a strong attention to detail especially with follow-up.
Basic knowledge and experience with Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, YELP, Google Reviews, YouTube and other social media platforms.
Must have a driver’s license and clean driving record
Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings and one weekend day. 3-4 hour shifts are necessary.
Must be able to work out of various Edge locations during club business hours only.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Actively enrolled in an accredited college or university.
Must be able to earn academic credit for internship
2 years Background or Interest in: Business/Customer Service/Customer Experience/Retail/Management is a plus
Solid understanding of social media.
Ability to work with a sense of urgency.
Must have a passion for fitness.
Must have a passion to help our members with their concerns, likes, and dislikes.
High energy, friendly, and people-focused personality.
Existing or previous experience as a member of The Edge Fitness Clubs preferred.
Six-month club membership activated at time of hire.
Mileage reimbursement paid according to company policy.
Proof of 120 hour or approx. 10 weeks (unpaid) internship provided for school credit.
